Creations

Artefakt produces Papier Mache Costume Dolls depicting Indian Culture in authentic details.  Each doll is fashioned after meticulous research into the physical features of the individual character, pose, dress and jewellery. Each creation is hand crafted and unique. These sculptures are made in various sizes.  The smallest size being four inches (4”) height, to 6”, 8”, 12”, 18” and 30”, we also make life size dolls.  These dolls are also made in sets (groups). The variety of dolls includes:

  • Set of dolls depicting Classical dance Forms of India (like Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Manipuri, Oddissi, Mohiniattam, Kathak etc).
  • Set of dolls depicting Folk Dance Forms of India (Lavani, Garba, Bhangda, Gidda, Kalibulia, Ghumar, Cherau, Koli etc.)
  • Set of dollls depicting Tribes of India (Jarwa, Bhil, Banjara, Lambadi, Naga warriors, primitive tribes etc.).
  • Set of dolls depicting Brides and Bride Grooms of India (Maharastrian, Punjabi, Bengali, Rajasthani, South Indian, Christian etc.)
  • Men and Women in their Traditional Costumes from different parts of India (Bengali, Kashmiri, Rajasthani, Punjabi, Maharashtrian, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh etc.)
  • Indian Village Women at work (Women cleaning rice, grinding spices, vegetable vendor, toy seller, churning butter milk etc.).
  • Women in their traditional costumes from various countries (Spain, Mexico, Japan, China, Africa, Russia, Norway, Denmark etc.)
  • Indian Village Men at work (Potter, Cobbler, Carpenter, Vegetable vendor, repairing musical instruments etc.)
  • Dolls depicting characters from Indian Mythology (Gods and Godesses, Lord Krishna, Radha, Ganesha, Durga, Yashodha etc.)
  • Dolls depicting characters from Indian History (Shivaji Maharaj, Rani Laxmibai, Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekanand etc.)
